Abstract of the Talk

The least upper bound (LUB) property of real numbers plays a very decisive role in real analysis. The removal of LUB axiom will cause the entire edifice of real analysis to collapse. Most often the major results of real analysis directly or indirectly depend on LUB property of real numbers. This obscures the significance of the axiom.
