Introduction and Objectives of MathematiX

This club focuses on exchange of mathematical ideas and knowledge as well popularizing it. The sessions are held weekly. The talks are given by mainly by students and sometimes by teachers. The talks are designed to be more interactive and interesting.

Now anyone can give talk if he/she is well prepared. Problem solving sessions are also undertaken, in which as the name suggests, problem solving skills are sharpened. Sometimes, sessions may be devoted to clarification of doubts accumulated during class hours.

Evidently, this offers a fine opportunity to improve one’s presentation and speaking skills. This will also encourage us in reading materials other than the course. This will focus on reading and understanding of mathematical proofs, emphasizing precise thinking and presentation of mathematical results both orally and in written form. So enjoy the beauty of mathematics.

Anyone who is interested in giving talk should mail to mathematix at niser dot ac dot in.
