The Plant Biology Team
We constitute of a small but enthusiastic group including undergraduate and graduate students. In addition to the lab meetings, the members meet together for an over -the-tea informal academic discussion on plant biology at the Plant Biology Discussion Forum. They are joined by other plant biology enthusiasts in the forum discussion. Apart from the regular doctoral and masters' students, the plant biology lab takes a few summer trainees as well, to work on different projects.

Dr. Kishore Panigrahi is currently heading the Plant Science Lab at School of Biological Sciences, NISER. His areas of interest are light signalling and understanding the control of flowering time in Arabidopsis. However he has a diversified interests in the field of Plant biology research. He has forayed into the field of Production of immunomodulatory protiens using Physcomitrella as a model.

Durga Prasad Biswal
Durga Prasad joined the lab in 2014. He has completed his Msc. from Utkal University, Odisha. His interest revolves around the crosstalk between light and hormone signaling in Physcomitrella patens, a moss which are the representative of primitive plants, those plants which conquered land first. Apart from his major focus he is also trying to understand the abiotic stress response in Physcomitrella.
