Plant Biology Lab of NISER welcomes you. We constitute a small group of enthusiastic plant biologists working under close supervision of Dr. Kishore Panigrahi. Our lab is currently the only group at NISER associated directly with Plant Science Research. We deal with a number of basic and applied research areas including circadian rhythm, production of immunomodulators and exploring biofuel potential of weeds from chilika. However our prime focus is on light signaling and the molecular events controlling the flowering time. We use Arabidopsis thaliana and Physcomitrella patens as our model systems. We are also investigating the effect of nano particles on flowering time control and the mechanism of nano particle synthesis from Plant Extracts.
